Goods & Services Tax (GST): Does your business need to register?
As a result of recent changes to Australian tax laws, some foreign businesses that sell products and services to Australian consumers will be required to collect and remit a value added tax on those sales.
Recent changes to GST law
From 1 July 2017, Australia’s Goods & Services Tax (GST) will apply to international sales of services and digital products to Australian consumers – affected international businesses with a tax residency other than Australia may be required to be registered for GST with the Australian Taxation Authority from this date.
